I'm sure this is a statement which others might wish to debate, but I seriously have the BEST sister in the world. I know I'm supposed to say that my husband is my best friend ever, but he really has to put up a fight to stay up there with D'Ann. I don't think there is a single person on this planet who knows me and all my dirty little secrets as well as she does. For those of you who don't already know (though I think most of you do, since I'm sure I never shut up about it), my sister and I are really close and maintain our close friendship by going out to the same Mexican food restaurant for lunch every Monday. Which we have been doing for the last 10 years or so. But sometimes, that just isn't enough and we chose to have our own little days out together to spend some quality time that doesn't constantly get interrupted with statements such as, "Mathew! Get off the floor!" or "Mommy, I have to go potty!" or more recently, "WAAAAAA!" (That's supposed to be the sound of Nathaniel crying). So Saturday my fabulous husband stayed with the kids while D'Ann and I enjoyed a few wonderful, childless hours seeing a movie (while enjoying a HUGE bucket of popcorn saturated in extra butter) and eating lunch. I think it is our motto that "The sisters who eat too many calories together, stays together."
I just wanted to take a moment to thank her for the amazing support she has always been to me. She has saved me thousands upon thousands of dollars over the years both by constantly refusing to let me pay for 98% of our meals (which I WILL get back at you for) and by listening to me vent way more than a person should, thus saving me having to pay a therapist. The best thing is, I know I can tell her anything and she'll always be supportive and never judgemental. She loves my kids like they were her own, which they practically are, and they think she's the super coolest aunt around.
I meant to have someone take our picture that day, but like always, I forgot. So here's the fabulous Squire girls back in 1994, our 1st year working at Lagoon together. And believe it or not, that scrawny little brace-faced girl is indeed a 15-year-old me...back when my hair was still naturally blond and my style was very questionable (wait...I'm not sure that part has changed...). Though don't blame the ugly uniform on me, that part I couldn't help. Funny story that no one cares about, that picture was taken right after I received my first gold badge. It was tradition to play some sort of prank on anyone who had earned their gold badge and they really got me. I was told D'Ann fell off the track while trying to retrieve something from the Roller Coaster and that she was badly injured with a broken leg and such. They were so convincing that by the time I reached the back side of the Roller Coaster I was shaking and bawling only to see D'Ann running down the back stairs as whole as can be. I was mortified and wanted to make her phantom injuries a reality. Ah, good times.
Enough rambling for one night. Love ya D! Thanks for being you.

Oh, Sheri that picture is adorable. You were a hot babe even back then???? I really admire the relationship you guys have. How great to always be there for each other. Good memories!
*sniff* Gosh... thanks. Seriously... you made my eyes drip. I feel humbled. I'm not sure I deserve all the praise, but I'm sure happy that you enjoy spending time with me as much as I enjoy spending time with you (and your family). I can only say that I have the BEST sister in the world, so that title cannot possibly go to me. I think I cry on your shoulder and vent a lot more than you do to me. Thanks for being a sister I can trust and vent to.
As always, I smile because your my sister. I laugh because there's nothing you can do about it! :) (If I ever see that again, I'm totally going to buy it.)
Oh Sheri I think that is great how close you and your sister are! It makes me wish I had a sister that I could be that close to. And that picture, it's awesome!
Sheri-
I was blog jumping and I ran into you! Not that I can't walk across the street and talk to you any old time... but, I am excited to read your blog and see how your family is! Check mine out-

Ummmm... I distinctly remember D'Ann running after you (ready to clobber you) for yelling her middle name at the top of your lungs outside where everyone could hear. Of course that was over 10 years ago. It goes to show that we grow up and LOVE each other!
D'Ann was my all-time favorite babysitter. The best part was that she brought you!
Oh my gosh Marcie...I remember that!! Oh, I thought she was literally going to kill me. I don't know if, to this day, I've ever seen her so mad. So funny!
Oh... I'm so embarrassed! Thank goodness for change. While I didn't appreciate my middle name growing up, now I'm proud to say my middle name is Roberta. I won't be chasing anyone down the street to do harm if they announce my middle name to the world. Thanks for the laugh Marcie. I laughed so hard here at work that I got looks from the co-workers. Sorry for the traumatic experience. =)
i must have to say that I agree with the tribute to D'Ann although she isn't my sister she was always someone I could talk to growing up even though there were 100 of miles between us. I would write long letters and she would write long ones back. D'Ann has always been Amazing.
