A Day for Daddies

We love our dads, or at least I do! And that includes my wonderful husband. He works so hard to support us in every way. Brandon is an amazing spouse and such a fun dad to his kids. I'm so thankful for him, especially because he gives the kids the goofy attention that they love. I feel such the adult with my kids. I honestly really struggle to just get down and the floor and play with them and make them laugh. Brandon is fantastic! He can play annoying kids games with them for hours sometimes and still have a great time. You know how kids can say something really lame and think it's hysterical and just want to repeat it over and over? Brandon is so great at that. Him and the kids will just go in circles saying all the dumb kid things that drive me crazy and they'll all just laugh. While I, on the other hand, am the boring mom who excuses herself to go read a book or play on the computer. I think my kids will forever remember their Dad for how much fun he is.

Our Father's Day weekend was filled with lots of family and, of course, lots of good food. Saturday we attended a Staten family picnic where I was able to snap a fabulous 4 generation picture. My boys with their daddy with his daddy with his daddy.

I find pictures like this especially neat because none of my grandparents lived long enough to see me get married, let alone meet my children (at least not on this earth.) Family is an amazing thing. I love to think about our ancestors and wonder if they had any idea what they were creating when they brought children into this world. You really can see the future when you look into your child's eyes.

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies out there!!
