Well, I really did have great intentions of going back to updating my blog every week...Hmmm...I don't think it's gonna happen. Crap! 12 days into the New Year and my resolutions are already circling the drain. Typical. But how I'm going to choose to look at this (since it makes me look better) is that one of my resolutions this year is to stop waiting for Mondays or a new month or new year to start making changes. Today is the day to change! So in honor of that little goal of mine, I'm going to go ahead and ignore the fact that it's 12 days into the new year and just start from today. Does that make sense? Dangit! *sigh* I really didn't think so either. I think I may be reaching. Anyway...
So New Years! I hope everyone had a fabulous and fun New Year's celebration! As those of you with kids already know, our exciting New Year parties stop being fun around 10:30, when the kids begin to realize they normally don't get to stay up this late and they start expressing whatever emotions they have with the utmost exaggeration. Normally McKenna and Mathew do really well staying up until the famed midnight on New Year's Eve. So we thought we would head over to the Packers' house and enjoy way too much food and good company. We thought the kids would have fun and Nathaniel would fall asleep at some point...right? Uh, apparently not. Admittedly, McKenna had a blast and she was just as hyper and giggly as always. Here's a pic of the girls doing what they do best - smiling beautifully for the camera. McKenna wore her own jammies over to their house, but felt the need to change into one of Savannah's nightgowns once she got there, like always.
Mathew did pretty well until, around 11:00 at night, Amanda took it upon herself to put him through some brand of horrible torture by taking this picture of him.
Totally rude, right? Well, I guess he thought so. Immediately after this shot was taken, he hopped up and ran to me in fits of hysterics. Here he is again only seconds later.
Mommy makes it better. Don't I look tired? I think we were very ready for the night to be over at this point. After Mathew felt fully comforted, which took only a matter of minutes, here's where we find him next.
Man, what a wimp!
If anyone was having less fun than Mathew, it was Nathaniel, who cried from about 10:00 on. Heaven only knows why the Packers didn't kick us out of their house long before the New Year came in. It must've been all the good food I brought...
Brandon and I took turns holding the little Nater and trying to get him to go to sleep. But alas, he stayed awake the whole time and screamed in the New Year with the rest of us. Mathew was our only sleeping casualty.
Even though 11:30 came and we were all wondering if we would ever make it to midnight, we did! And here's a pic of the girls banging pots to prove it.
I may sound whiny in this post, but the truth is we had a great time and I owe a big thanks to the Packers for having us over. Also a big thanks to them for the pictures, as I was just too lazy...er, busy to take my own.
Happy Belated New Year to you all! I have a lot more pictures and adventures to post about, but I'll get to those in a few days...or weeks...or, you know, whenever.

Don't feel to bad, it took me just about as long to post about our New Year too.
We weren't about to go anywhere this year and celebrate. Plus, we were selfish and made our favorite appetizer and then proceeded to eat it all ourselves!
I like your posts, whenever the happen to appear (PS I see you're reading lighten up, you'll have to tell me what you think)
Cute! It's funny Mathew crashed and didn't make it to Midnight. That was Kenna.
