Get married - check!
Have a few kids - check!
Buy a house - check!
Buy a minivan - check!
Put my child in soccer - check!
Oooooo...I'm SO close! All I need to do is join the PTA and I think I will have every necessary qualification to become the ultimate cliche mother!
So sorry for my absence in blogging. I honestly didn't think anyone would really care, but apparently there are a couple of you out there who actually do! (Thanks D'Ann and Amelia!) I've been quite busy (which I'll fill you all in on with a later post) and I've been feeling a little bored with blogging the last couple of weeks. I know...gasp! I should be banned from the blogging world for even admitting it. Anyway, my blog material is building up and I have 2 tags to get to at some point, so I'd better get back to it.Anyway...we made the ever popular decision this fall to put Mathew in soccer. He was a Green Pickle! Hee-hee...I love it. I'm sure a good chunk of you have had this same experience - isn't it hysterical?? I had never been to a pre-K soccer game before, and I was surprised at how completely entertaining it was. I loved watching the great clump of kids running after the ball, continually tripping over each other, and kicking the ball which ever way they happened to be facing. And speaking of hysterical, how do ya like Mathew's official soccer picture? I think his expression conveys well how he felt about getting in the middle of all the crazy kids to get his shot at the ball.
Now that this soccer season is over, I'm quite certain that aggressive sports won't exactly be Mathew's big talent. He spent most of the time keeping a careful 5 foot distance between him and the mass of kids chasing the ball. During his last game, we had a very proud moment where Mathew somehow managed to kick the ball and he looked over at us and squealed, "I kicked the ball Daddy!" So fun!
Now for more pictures...
Here's Mathew and our good friend, Brandi, who was the cutest soccer coach ever. Thanks for asking Mathew to be on your team, Brandi! He loved it and you were great!
And then, in an effort to save space and not post a million pictures, I've included most of the pictures in this here picture collage. Pictured below: End of game huddle cheer, Mathew enjoying his half-time snack, Mathew standing random in the middle of the field when he should be running after the ball, the kids being reminded which way their goal is (which had to be repeated several times every game), Mathew carefully chasing the ball (he's #7), and Mathew not paying attention to his huddle instructions.
We had a great time. I'm a little sad that the season is over, but also happy to have my Saturday mornings back. In spite of Mathew's lack of natural athleticism, he had a lot of fun and was quite excited to receive his "everybody wins" trophy at the end of the season.
Well, that does it folks! Alright everyone...hands in....
Goooooooooo GREEN PICKLES!!!

Phew! I am so relieved that there is more Sheri Blogging.
LOL! Gooooo Green Pickles! Too cute. I see what looks like black shorts and a soccer ball in that first picture, but it appears anything else going on has been camouflaged in with the grass. :) I kid, I love the look on his face!
It's funny that the two people you mention in the blog are the first to post. =)
P.S. Love the new pics of the kids on the right. I of course stole them for my own picture library.
How cute. Mathew looks like he had a great time. Molly is very much the same way in soccer, trying to avoid the mass group of kids chasing the ball. But she absolutely loves playing and gets great exercise that way.
How cute! I am sad to see soccer season come to an end as well.
However it is nice for things to be slowing down. The primary program is over as of today, maybe we can have time to be friends again.
